Sometimes organizations just need a micro-boost to get back on their feet and rebuild. Kavayon Peasants' Association (APTKKA), a branch of the larger Kavayon Organization that has spread throughout the country, has been operating in Kavayon commune for 13 years. APTKKA is very active in the community, it participates in many social works in the area such as road repair work, and it does several small economic projects for its members in the field of environment, food transformation, breeding, agricultural credit, and mutual solidarity.
The association, in the last 13 years, is promoting mutual solidarity in all localities where it cares about its members to help them have a "certain autonomy" but also to have more solidarity developed among the members.
There are several microcredit funds that are already operating within the larger Association from their own membership fees. The association engaged a specialist with expertise in the field of cooperatives to conduct training for the targeted groups on the principles of operation of a microcredit and how to manage a credit portfolio.
As the members do not have the means to pay their dues regularly, the Association is always looking for institutions to support them in order to increase their capital. It is in this sense that APTKKA knocked on Lambi Fund's door to help boost 6 micro funds. These micro funds have between 15-30 members and each has an average turnover fund estimated at approximately 50,000.00 gourds. More details next time.
