In a world where old age is often associated with loneliness and challenges, this project became a ray of hope for many elderly people. Our goal was to provide essential equipment to those who need our support the most. Thanks to your contributions through the GlobalGiving platform, we successfully fulfilled this important mission.
Purchased Equipment
With the funds raised, we purchased:
• 21 multifunctional medical beds with mattresses,
• 20 bedside tables,
• 8 mattress covers.
This equipment has become a symbol of care and attention that elderly people often lack.
Support for Geriatric Institutions
One of the primary beneficiaries of this aid was the Mohyliv Geriatric Home in Dnipropetrovsk Region. This home accommodates 167 elderly residents, 100 of whom are bedridden. We provided them with 20 multifunctional beds. Imagine how these beds are transforming their lives: safety rails provide protection, and IV stands make medical care more accessible. For these people, the new beds are not just a means of comfort but a reminder that they are not alone in their struggles.
At the Ivankiv Territorial Center in Kyiv Region, which is home to 32 elderly individuals, including 16 bedridden residents, we delivered 8 mattress covers and 1 medical bed. This support has helped ensure proper care and preserved the dignity of every resident.
Bedside tables also became an important part of the assistance. They allow bedridden individuals to eat, read, or engage in crafts comfortably. Such tables are especially needed at the Tetiyiv Territorial Center, which houses 60 people, 30% of whom are bedridden. We have planned the delivery of 16 tables for this center.
In the small department of the Malovyshanska Community in Kyiv Region, 20 elderly pensioners live alone. Their lives will be made a little easier with the 4 tables we also plan to deliver soon.
Challenges Faced
Unfortunately, due to the energy crisis that affected all of Ukraine in December, our partner manufacturer was unable to produce 20 tables on time. However, we are pleased to announce that their delivery is scheduled for January 16, 2025.
Conclusion
This project has proven that even in the most difficult times, we can change lives for the better together. For many of our beneficiaries, the new equipment became a symbol of care, humanity, and support.
