The WILL (Women in Leadership League) Foundation has launched a unique Women's Leadership Program in Hungary, designed to support female managers in advancing their leadership journey. Through educational workshops, mentorship, networking opportunities, and a growing community of alumni, the WILL Program will directly address the existing gender gap in corporate leadership, in line with EU and UN recommendations.
Despite making up a large percentage of college graduates and the workforce, women in Central and Eastern Europe are underrepresented in leadership positions, with only around 8% serving as CEOs (source: McKinsey). There is a critical lack of leadership programs tailored to the unique challenges faced by women in this region, particularly in Hungary, where the WILL Program aims to launch before expanding to the wider CEE region.
The WILL Program aims to fill this gap by providing a year-long leadership course, tailored to the needs of female mid-level managers in the CEE region. The curriculum focuses on vital leadership skills such as negotiation, stakeholder management, and building high-performance teams, combined with personal coaching and mentoring from successful women leaders.
By empowering women with the skills, confidence, and network to take on senior leadership roles, the WILL Program will help ensure more balanced representation of women in executive positions across Central and Eastern Europe. Over time, this will help shape healthier corporate cultures and boost the innovation and financial performance of companies in the region.
