Last year, LEAP Africa, through the LEAP Leadership Institute, empowered over 2000 women from 31 African countries in the inaugural Leadership Accelerator Programme (LAP). This initiative was crafted to address the critical issue of under-representation of African women in leadership roles, both within the corporate sector and in the political arena. The LAP's unique approach equips African women with essential skills for global career advancement, fostering a culture of proactive leadership where excellence is demonstrated regardless of formal leadership positions.
Recently, we launched the 2024 edition of the Leadership Accelerator Programme in collaboration with Women In Leadership Advancement Network (WILAN) and SIMAS Academy. We received an overwhelming response, with over 5000 applications from 48 African countries. The qualified participants have been successfully onboarded onto our LEAP Africa Learning Management System (LMS) and have commenced the virtual modules of the programme.
Following the virtual sessions, participants will engage in an intensive bootcamp, where they will develop capstone projects to practically apply their learnings. Subsequently, they will embark on a mentorship journey, where they will be paired with mentors in their areas of interest to guide their growth process.
