Dear supporters of our work in Lebanon and Jordan,
thanks to your support over the last 6 years, we have been able to pilot, implement and complete very succesful trauma-relief and peacebuilding work for Syrian, Lebanese and Jordan communities.
Nothing gives a better idea of the impact of your support than THIS VIDEO, which has now become a case study example around the world of IAHV's innovative Psychosocial Peacebuilding approach.
Since the pandemic has started, we have not been able to continue our activities as we used to: available funds have decreased, the larger part of the population is occupied with survival, restrictions on movement and gathering prevent live programs, internet costs are too high for people to attend online programs, etc.
However, we regularly hear that "the whole population in Lebanon is traumatised" by the sheer living circumstances in Lebanon, which are nothing short of a daily struggle for survival.
Communities in Lebanon have been challenged by one crisis after another: political, financial, Covid, poverty and unemployment, the Syrian war and refugee crisis, the Beirut blast, and more.
Given these developments, we have broadened the scope of our intended focus in Lebanon to provide comprehensive psychosocial support programs to vulnerable communities. (Such as those affected by the Beirut blast, and the Covid frontline workers - see earlier reports) The aim is still to enable communities with IAHV's knowledge and techniques to manage their own stress, improve their wellbeing, strengthen their resilience and become empowered agents of change. In addition, we will also provide humanitarian support where needed.
Due to the pandemic, our activities are limited at the moment, but we hope to build further on the succesful outcomes that we have achieved so far and restart larger scale programs once it is possible again.
With warm greetings and best wishes to stay healthy and well,
IAHV Peacebuilding Team
