Lend a Hand and Let's Grow Together

Since our latest report not much has changed as far as Covid-19 restrictions on all educational institutions are concerned and there is no specific timeline to return to normal face-to-face education.

This also applies to our mentor and mentii meetings which will probably be held on line at least for the first school term. As most university students have returned to their hometowns in March continuing their distant education, regular mentor and meeting were also done online since then.In some cases,to connect with their mentors from their small viilages with poor wi-fi connections was a challenge for some students, but it helped them to dream and plan about their future.

In the meantime we started using the "mentornity" platform to facilitate our digital mentoring. One of our goals in our 9th year is to organize trainings for the participating CYDD branches on how to use this platform efficiently.

Our 8th year program was finalized officially on June 30th . We  came near to our goal of having 70% girl mentiis every year. Our 8th year project participants were 257 female students (122 from Istanbul region) and 126 male students (57 from Istanbul).

We have also successfully finished our pilot program for mentors from abroad with 8 pairings. Mentor trainings were done on-line for 2-3 hours with our trainer before the digital meetings began. 

The mentor and mentii applications for our 9th year will be over by the time this report reaches you and mentor and mentii matchings will be ready by our next report.
