Creativity against discrimination and violence

By Marija Virijevic | Project leader

The process of working on the performance
The process of working on the performance

In the past period, we have organized creative workshops, joint work on a performance that carries a strong message - every child deserves a safe childhood, as well as training for mediators in the community.

Through creative workshops, children had the opportunity to express their thoughts, feelings and experiences in a creative way, but also to send a clear message about the importance of a life without violence.

Through the creative stone painting workshop, which is intended for children who use the services of our Children Daycare Center, as well as their mothers, they learned what basic and secondary colors are. The process of working on the performance was just as important as its execution – it developed self-confidence, a sense of belonging and mutual support.

At the training for mediators in the community, the following was discussed: *who are the mediators in the community *who are not mediators * the most important skills of mediators *about work in the field *about first conversations with a wife or family *about the values on which the mediator's work is based Future mediators from Niš participated in the training in Sokobanja.

All these activities are organized within the project "Carefree and safe - Let's prevent violence against children who live and work/beg on the street and/or live in poverty in Nis".
