Recent reports on climate change and observations in Haiti continue to  support our concerns for the environment.  Since 2016 the position of the Lambi Fund of Haiti has been three prong.  Even with our limited resources, we have maintained the environment as an essential priority, requiring:

 1.   Increased awareness of the role of the environment in our lives and our reponsibility to maintain the essential life resource for future generations

2.  Local contribution to add 20,000 trees for each project supported

3.  Developing nursery building skills in the respective communities served

The goal for 2018 was to plant 320,000 trees in the communities where projects are implemented.  As of this month of November, the profile of our reforrestation efforts is as follows:

Organization    Type of project         projected                  planted                             Note

1.  AFTA           Micro credit                    20,000                     15,397
2.  COPADET    Ox-Plow                        20,000                     11,321                     impacted by drought
3. SADN           Reforestation                  40,000                    26,000
4. KOKAP         Cafe and cocoa           120,000                      60,000
5. APTK            Reforestation                 60,000                     40,000
6.  KPM              Reforestation                60,000                     65,000
7. OPDERGM    Micro credit                   20,000                     16,020
8. OPGDSC       Mango                             60,000                    34,714

                                    Total                    320,000                      268,452

Our partners in the south and the latibonit region are at 83% of their production goal.  Copadet is the only organization that faced  months without rain.  They continue with their planting of trees in critical areas.

Thank you so much for joining us to plant trees in Haiti, bringing greater awareness and with great hopes to change the course of reforestation in Haiti.
