Gala Youth of the Year 2024

Greetings to our beloved Boys & Girls Club of Puerto Rico community!

We are delighted to share the exciting advances we have achieved in this past period. First, we successfully held our first golf tournament. Following that, we launched the AWARE Project to support the mental health of youth from different parts of the island.

In our ongoing efforts to bridge the learning gap for middle and high school students, we collaborated with College Board Latam to allow our participants to take College Board tests and receive guidance on the university admission process in Puerto Rico and the United States.

We also partnered with the prestigious advertising agency, BBDO Puerto Rico, to create our public service campaign "Te vemos grande", which has been broadcast on local television channels. Additionally, we hosted the Youth of the Year event, where nine youths shared their stories of overcoming and success.

For the third consecutive year, we celebrate the achievements of "Proyecto Semilla" which aims to help participants learn and empower themselves in their self-care, using an educational framework following the scientific method. Fifty youths from our after-school service centers participated in the "Junte Universitario", an event designed to familiarize our participants with the university life.

We also relaunch the Fab Lab in Isabela, where our youths are exploring their creativity and technological skills through the inspiring Zero2Maker course, nurturing their growth as innovators and future leaders.

Additionally, 45 participants from our Keystone Club program attended the 2024 Leadership Summit to continue their personal development and empowerment and to present the community projects they worked on in their Clubs.

We are excited to begin the remodeling of the 2 Generations Center at Las Margaritas in San Juan, which is a vital space for promoting the comprehensive development of our youth and their families, ensuring a bright future for all participants.

At this moment, our summer camp "Aventura al Sol" is in full swing, with 1,800 youths actively participating in enriching activities that foster their academic, recreational, and personal development.

Throughout this fiscal year, we have reaffirmed our commitment to the nutrition and well-being of our youth through our food program, serving over a thousand nutritious meals. We also want to highlight the exceptional leadership and courage of youths recognized in the Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico (BGCPR) Youth of the Year program, who have overcome personal challenges and inspired everyone around them.

We remain dedicated to strengthening partnerships and expanding our positive impact in the communities we serve. Thank you for being part of this great family and supporting us in our commitment to the holistic development of the children and youth of Puerto Rico.
