During the first months of 2025, we have strengthened our efforts in the personalized molecular diagnosis project for leukemia patients in Venezuela, focusing our work on ensuring free access to essential tests for children treated within the public healthcare system.
The population benefiting from this project mainly comes from low-income sectors, which makes access to private laboratories difficult. In response to this reality, the Jacinto Convit Foundation remains committed to providing, free of charge, specialized diagnostic services that detect genetic alterations associated with this disease, thereby contributing to more effective treatment.
Thanks to the support of our allies and donors, we have been able to acquire the necessary reagents and materials to continue our work. Between April and June, we served a total of 125 patients, a reflection of the real and sustained impact this project has on the most vulnerable communities in the country.
One of the most significant achievements during this period has been the consolidation of a new institutional partnership with the Dr. Pedro Emilio Carrillo University Hospital, located in Trujillo State. This collaboration has allowed us to extend our reach to a total of 14 public healthcare centers, thereby expanding access to our specialized services in regions we previously had not reached.
We continue to move forward with commitment and responsibility, fully aware that behind each sample analyzed is a life waiting for answers. At the Jacinto Convit Foundation, we work every day to ensure those answers arrive on time and become a real opportunity for hope for those facing leukemia under difficult conditions.
