Personalized leukemia tests for Venezuelan Kids

During the period between November 2025 and March 2026, the Jacinto Convit Foundation has continued working with strong commitment on the development of the project Personalized Leukemia Tests for Venezuelan Kids.

The main objective of this program remains to facilitate free access to specialized diagnostic tests for pediatric patients with suspected or confirmed leukemia within Venezuela’s public healthcare system, contributing to more accurate diagnoses and timely therapeutic decision-making.

In December 2025, the foundation participated in the international Giving Tuesday campaign, presenting this project as one of its priority initiatives. The funds raised during this campaign will be allocated to the purchase of part of the reagents required to process the diagnostic tests, which will help strengthen the continuity of the program and expand the capacity to serve pediatric patients.

During the months of November 2025 (15), December 2025 (12), January 2026 (19), and February 2026 (19), a total of 65 pediatric patients were served. During this period, the laboratory team maintained active sample reception and processing activities from different hospital centers across the country, ensuring the continuity of the program and access to these specialized diagnostic tests.

Each processed sample represents an important step toward a more precise diagnosis and the possibility of defining more appropriate treatments for patients. In contexts where resources are limited, initiatives like this become a fundamental support for families facing childhood cancer.

From the Jacinto Convit Foundation, we reaffirm our commitment to continue strengthening this program and extend our sincere gratitude to the donors, partners, and collaborators who make it possible to keep these specialized tests operational.

We invite our community to continue supporting this work, which contributes to transforming realities and offering hope to Venezuelan children facing oncological diseases.
