I would like to sincerely that you all for standing with us in the struggle for equality in Tanzania, your generosity and support has brought us where we are today.
COVID-19 has changed our lives, programs, projects, activities and the approach; since our country chose to ignore the best medical and scientific advice and human rights. We had no choice but help the LGBT community try to end this pandemic because our health and human rights matter most.
We are in the push to protect our community from COVID-19 and other rights that are being forgotten. The right to health care, the right to shelter, and the right to life...many are unnecessarily being denied these basic necessities. Our role here is to continue raising our voices in support of those who are being forgotten in the COVID-19 pandemic.
Our advocacy on behalf of poor vulnerable LGBT community that has little control over their health and safety will continue. We will keep demanding decriminalization of Homosexuality in Tanzania. And the support to our colleagues as they fight for their rights at a time when they are being forgotten,
The capacity building project that aim to train 25 LGBT activists from Tanzania mainland and Zanzibar to equip them with skills and the knowledge required so that they can understand how to advocate in their own communities (regions) and informing policymakers and politicians about inclusiveness and effective participation have been slow due to limited resources, we have already completed the identification of the potential advocates and we are now in the process of starting the training.
We plan to hold a four days residential training whereby we have to provide accommodation and meals to the participants for four days. We still need your support for us to accomplish this important work, please consider making any donation especially during the March Little by Little Matching Campaign because all donations will be Matched, giving us some extra cash which we urgently need to help run our projects.
