I`m excited to bring to you this report, thanks to all of you for your continued support that made it possible for LGBT Voice to continue running throughout 2022.
LGBT rights violations
Even though the Constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania has enshrined the principle of equality, inequality remains a reality and a significant social and a human rights challenge in Tanzania. LGBT+ people still do not have a right to quality life, safety, and equality before the law because the law enforcers are the ones violating LGBT+ rights directly by arbitrary arresting, detaining and torturing LGBT+ people
Our projects:
We are thrilled by the widespread support we received last year, a sum of $6,403.11 was raised. Thank very much for your continued support.
The funds raised was spent to implement a number of activates including
LGBT Voice Tanzania intends to remain active this year especially in the area of advocacy and providing free legal services to LGBT+ individuals. Our trained data experts will work together with our local coordinators and providing available resources so that they can effectively help in solving the most pressing challenges and needs of the LGBT+ community to bring real change and lasting impact.
Current needs:
1. Organizational running expenses:
Office space for 12 month $4000
Utility bills for 12 month $1,500
Internet and communication for 12 months $1,800
2. Project expenses
Legal fees (lawyer) for 12 months $12,000
Data advocacy project $6,000
Emergency $3,000
Bank charges and wire fees $325
Special Appeal
Due to the fact that LGBT Voice Tanzania doesn’t have any strategic partner, we only depend on voluntary donations made on online and in most cases we do not reach our fundraising goal for every month. Kindly help us raise $28,625 so that we can be able to work confidently and effectively through this year 2023.
