Help defend and protect LGBTQ+ rights in Tanzania

Although the government of Tanzania has been undertaking  campaigns to demoralize and condemn LGBT individuals and organizations and even threatening to close down organization that support LGBT individuals, LGBT Voice is still strong and working tirelessly to keep doors open and services available to the LGBT community. We have not stopped advocating for reversal of the recent actions that have been taken against the LGBT community, full and equal legal rights, and increasing acceptance of LGBT people. However, the government has again announced names of three gay men who are supposed to be charged for being gay, according to the Dar es Salaam Regional police commander.

 In the last two months we were able to form seven new groups, in Morogoro region and registered 33 new members. The organization is expanding and many people are now aware of our existence.

 Due to limited funds we have not been able to implement any new project but continue with our campaign creating awareness about the current situation in the country and also mobilizing support from both local and international organizations working for the interests and general well-being of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender people

We do receive calls and emails from LGBT people country wide that need our help but at the moment we are only able to support a few who reside in Dar es Salaam.

 Kindly continue supporting our work, it is becoming worse more than ever and at the moment is when we urgently need your support than ever, we need a secure space for our office, employ 4 competent staff and a few office equipments.

We need to raise our voice for the LGBT people because this country is becoming more dangerous for the LGBT people live, if we do not act today, it will be late tomorrow. Today my life is in danger because of my sex orientation tomorrow someone else will be in danger because of who he/she is.
