We have been holding friendly games with children and teenagers since May to encourage, among other things, the socialization and well-being of the children served. The matches, which are sometimes held with mixed teams of boys and girls, are conducted by our sports coordinator, Orlando, together with the futsal teachers and their assistants at least twice a month. “The idea is to make all students between 8 and 14 who participate in this activity feel welcome, feel seen and see that they are not just a class. In fact, the idea is to organize a championship or a festival between the schools in the future, to see if we can put together a schedule for the second semester to play the games between the girls and get some courts available in the region”, he explains.
St. Paul’s School, a British-Brazilian school and great partner, invited our futsal youth to participate in the One Goal project, an organization led by students from the school itself. There, our young people were able to have contact with a larger pitch and with grass, in addition to being able to interact with each other and create friendships with children from other social strata. “I really like the friendly games because the players develop more and ACER Brasil has been helping me a lot with that. Thanks!”, says Gabriel, 9 years old, whose father accompanies his son whenever possible.
We were very happy to see the significant presence of some parents and guardians who made a point of going to the courts to honor their children in the games. Geisse, the mother of another student, tells us that her son Christopher is really enjoying it and if it were up to him, he would play every day. “Of ACER Brasil's projects, what I like the most is futsal. There, I can count on the presence of my parents in the stands helping me to make my dreams come true”, confesses the 9-year-old boy. It seems that friendly games are also strengthening family relationships in a healthy and fun way.
Our goal is to make interschool games grow more and more, taking into account the results observed in terms of closer ties, socialization and exchange between children from different backgrounds. We hope to be able to share more stories about what is being done in boy's futsal. So be sure to follow us here.
