María Elizabeth Bermúdez, has been part of the foundation for 5 years. She started assiting reading and writing classes in Lifting Hands with Carolina, an amazing volunteer. Doña Maria has managed to learn a lot, something she had never imagined for a person of her age.
For doña Maria, Carolina's help has been a fundamental pillar in her learning. She is totally grateful to the foundation as it is explained, it has helped her a lot in her progress as women.
The foundation has not only helped her in her reading, but also her children, Benjamín and Ever, who also take advantage of the classes offered.
A long time ago, she could not help her children to do homework and this frustrated her a lot, but now she is able to help her children. She has been a support for them at an academic level.
Doña Maria had lost her husband a year ago and is now a widowed mother. However, the support she has received from the foundation and, especially, from Mónica and Mariola, as the ones in charge of the foundation, has made it possible to take her children out after the severe depression she suffered in the past. Now she is looking forward to the new four-month period that is about to start and continue with a new learning cycle.
