Project report No. 13

By Maja Rubin | Project Leader

Dear friends, dear donors,

We are pleased to share the latest update from the Lighthouse of Knowledge project, as we continue the preparation and early implementation phase of the 9th generation of the program.

Over the past three months, our work has moved from planning into active development and testing, allowing us to further refine the program structure and validate key improvements.

Key progress highlights:

  • Finalization of new thematic tracks
The newly introduced tracks - focused on community innovation, digital creativity, and future-ready skills - have been fully developed and integrated into the program framework.
  • Pilot testing of redesigned project development process
We have tested the updated approach with a smaller group of participants and mentors, emphasizing local problem validation before scaling solutions. Initial feedback has been highly positive and is already informing final adjustments.
  • Expansion and activation of the mentor network
New mentors with diverse professional backgrounds have been onboarded, and the first round of matching and engagement has begun, ensuring stronger, more tailored support for participants.
  • Strengthening partnerships on the local level
We have initiated communication with local partners and organizations to support implementation in different communities, increasing the program’s reach and relevance.
  • Preparation of outreach and participant recruitment strategy
A refreshed communication approach has been developed to attract a new generation of motivated high school students across Serbia.

This phase has been crucial in transitioning from concept development to practical application. The insights gathered are directly shaping the final program design and ensuring that the 9th generation is both impactful and responsive to the needs of young people today.

As we move forward, our focus remains on delivering a program that empowers youth to create meaningful change in their communities, now with even stronger tools, support systems, and opportunities.

Thank you for your continued support and trust.

With appreciation,
The ASK team
