Currently, Tahanan ng Pagmamahal is providing a safe haven for Thirty –five (35) children from seventeen (17) days old to eleven (11) years old. They are provided nutritious well-balanced meals, milk, multivitamins, and fruits to ensure that their immune systems are strong against diseases and against viral infections. All Thirty-five (35) children have evidently shown growth in the increase in their weights and heights.
Booster vaccinations against Typhoid fever, Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR), Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus, Hepatitis B and Hib (PENTA), Polio (OPV) & Hepatitis B (HEP B) were given to the children by one of the partner hospitals of the shelter.
Two (2) kids were hospitalized due to Hemorrhagic fever. Both of them have recovered and healed completely but one (1) of them took two (2) weeks to recover.
Fifteen (15) children were also checked and treated for the following: Skin Allergies, Stomach Aches, Upper Respiratory Tract Infection and Hemorrhagic Fever.
Strict protocols are implemented and observed by the older children in sanitizing their hands with alcohol and wearing of face masks when they are in school and at the shelter. This is to ensure that the children attending face to face classes outside of the shelter won’t be passing any diseases or viruses they may have been in contact with outside to the children who are home schooled at the shelter.
The holidays have ushered a slew of outreach activities in Tahanan. The visitors and the kids are strictly monitored and have to follow a stringent protocol in their interactions. Face masks and alcohol sanitation in specific time intervals are required.
Our heartfelt gratitude and love for all of you who have continued to support us in providing the safe, loving, environment these children need to grow and thrive in. May you be blessed a millionfold with everything you have shared with us and may those good wishes and intentions return to you for the rest of your lives. Happy holidays!
