This time marks the beginning of the flu season due to the shift in weather from hot and humid to rainy. Recently, ten (10) children aged between two (2) years and two (2) months to eight (8) years have been experiencing symptoms like fever, colds, and cough. All affected children were taken to the clinic for check-ups and are now receiving medication. Medical tests, including those for Hemorrhagic fever and a complete blood count with platelet analysis, have been conducted, yielding negative results as of this report. One toddler underwent surgery for Tibia Vara, which included Bilateral SP Osteotomy, Implant Removal, and Bilateral Tibia Scar Revision. As a precaution against health risks, including recent COVID cases, the wearing of facemasks and regular sanitization continues to be enforced.
To enhance the children's immune systems, citrus fruits, multivitamins, and Vitamin C are provided. Older children are also being given milk along with nutritious foods such as vegetables, fish, and other protein-rich items.
The school year 2024-2025 began on August 1, 2024. Among the thirty-seven (37) children in the care of the residential center, twenty-two (22) are enrolled in programs ranging from daycare to 6th Grade. To support and motivate the children's learning, tutorial sessions and additional activities are being organized by volunteers.
These medical needs, health and wellness programs as well as the educational needs of these children have been met month after month. This has been made possible by your continued support and generosity. Thank you for your untiring and unwavering kindness towards our kids. May God richly reward you for all that you have shared to Tahanan ng Pagmamahal.
