By Cora Sayre | Project Leader
Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our project providing low-cost sanitation for poor families in Leyte affected by the typhoon. We have constructed water and sanitation facilities in several barrios in Leyte after the typhoon and this time we continue to monitor their use and provided technical asssitance to the residents when there are minor repairs that needs to be done. We are happy to note that so far there are no major problems encountered in the operation and management of the facilities that we have constructed. During this reporting period, our 2 local staff based in Albuera municipality have visited 5 barrios and conducted inspections to the facilities there. We found out that still so many local residents need latrines and open defecation is still very high in the area.
Hoping for your continuing support to our initiative.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora
