By Cora Sayre | Project Leader
Dear Friends and Partners,
Greetings from Leyte and may I thank you once again for your generous support to our work. We continue to construct toilets and selecting the really very poor and helpless families. We have a toilet base in Albuera, Leyte and soon we will expand our work to 2 municipalities in Samar which is Marabut and Lawaan. Samar also is hard-hit by Typhoon Haiyan and devastation there is extensive. I am happy to report that we are making good progress because our toilet is being copied by international NGO's concerned with water and sanitation since they have no effective solution. There "portalet" is messy and difficult to manage while our Filipino toilet using local materials is perfect for the areas. We are also using bamboo and we employ a lot of bamboo artisans making the bamboo mats.
Hoping for your additional support as we expand to new areas in Samar.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora
