By Cora Sayre | Project Leader
Dear Friends,
Greetings for the New Year and may I warmly thank you for the amazing water and sanitation activities we did in 2016. I am also proud to say that we are one of the very few non-government organization that is left here in Leyte supporting typhoon survivors. I believe that with the extent of the damage, rehabilitation will take years to finish, what with other typhoons affecting the area although not as strong as Haiyan.
Aside from low-cost, durable and aspirational toilets, we expanded our initiative to constructing giant rainwater harvesters made of iron and concrete and install these in water-deficient mountain communities. The year 2016 we are able to construct 22 units, with the help of other donors aside from Global Giving. We do this with minimum operating cost since we already have a permanent office in Albuera Municipality and local dedicated expert masons and carpenters.
Again thank you so much and hoping we can surpass the breakthroughs in 2016.
Mabuhay!
Very sincerely yours,
Cora
