Little update about Pakistan:
Pakistan has been hit by the most devastating calamity in its history. Super floods have submerged almost 33% of the country and infrastructural destruction of a mammoth scale has been seen. The stagnant water and unsanitary living conditions have been a breeding ground for many water borne diseases. The influx of adults and children with skin, gastro and eye related diseases has increased manifolds as the living conditions of those affected continues to deteriorate. These have added to the devastation faced by millions who have been rendered shelterless due to the super floods. For them to rebuild their lives, their health needs to be prioritized. You will be happy to know even though LRBT is a non-profit yet it is playing it’s part by conducting free medical relief camps throughout the country. It is a time when the nation needs as much support as we all can give to rebuild their lives and for this their health is critical for their prosperity. We have taken upon us the responsibility to serve the community beyond our scope of work and help our brothers and sisters whose lives have been destroyed by the floods by providing free medical aid and medicines across the four provinces. Our plan is to conduct free eye and medical camps at approx 100 locations with free medicines. This was unanticipated and unbudgeted so alot of our funds have gone into this inititaive.
We look forward to your support to our RYK project and hope that you will continue to donate a portion of Zakat, Donation or Sadqa for this. May God reward you in both worlds.
Best wishes and warm regards,
Shabana Shahzad
