Fall has certainly been busy for the Lynn Sage Foundation. In October, in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we orchestrated the Chicago’s In Good Taste campaign in which participating restaurants, salons and retail outlets ask their patrons to contribute $1 or more to their total bill with all proceeds going directly to support breast cancer research. We’re still tallying the dollars raised, but thanks to the over 100 partnering establishments, we raised over $40,000 toward breast cancer research in Chicago.
We are also thankful to the Chicago Merchandise Mart, who invited us to be one of four beneficiaries of LuxeHome’s third annual CHILL event. This international wine and culinary event, located in the first floor of the Chicago Merchandise Mart, features superb wines paired with the finest cuisine from world renown chefs and raised over $20,000 for our cause.
There is still much work to be done but as we wrap up 2011 we are thankful for the generosity and support we continue to garner and are optimistic for the progress in research will see in 2012.
