Hello wonderful supporters,

We are thrilled to provide you with an update on the inspiring journey of Sarah N and Naomi K, shedding light on the profound impact your consistent generosity has made. The educational journey of these two girls has now entered its third year, and we want to express our deep appreciation for the support that has made this possible.

Sarah N, a student at St. Bonaventure Mixed Secondary School, is embarking on her third year with determination and resilience. She faced a tough situation 14 months ago when she had to escape from her home to avoid being subjected to Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). Sarah found a safe haven at her elementary school, thanks to a caring teacher. Afterward, Mary K from the FGM Zero Safe House stepped in and got her to safety, despite some attempts by her father to take her back, subject her to the illegal act of FGM and sell her to the highest bidder.

Now, Sarah is in a boarding school, happy to learn, and eager to protect girls like herself in the future. The support extended by GlobalGiving donors has played a big role in shaping her academic journey. Sarah, who once faced the risk of falling victim to Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), is now blossoming in her pursuit of education and expresses gratitude for the opportunities that she will have because of you.

Similarly, Naomi K, enrolled at Suguta Girl's Boarding Secondary School, has just entered her third year of high school. At 15, Naomi found herself in a scary situation when her father wanted her to go through Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). Thankfully, she learned about FGM Zero at her church and sought help. The FGM Zero team, with support from Global Roots in the USA, quickly moved Naomi to a boarding school, saving her from the harmful cultural practice. Even after the rescue, there were some troubling incidents, but thanks to the secuirty team at our Safe House and your help, Naomi is grateful to be away from FGM and able to stay in school.

Your support has not only empowered Naomi K to continue her education but has also fueled her aspirations to become a flight attendant. Naomi's journey is a living testament to the transformative power of education and the positive change your contributions are fostering in the lives of these young individuals.

We extend our sincere thanks for your continued support, which has allowed us to buy essential resources for Sarah and Naomi. Recent pictures (attached) vividly capture moments from their school reporting and shopping activities, offering a glimpse into the direct impact of your contributions. From school uniforms to crucial supplies like pens, soaps, and books, your support is playing a huge role in making their educational journey smoother and more fulfilling.

Mary K, the manager of the FGM Zero safe house, extends her gratitude to each and every one of you. Despite facing challenges in securing a teaching job, Mary remains firm in her commitment to ensuring the safe house continues to operate effectively. Her dedication ensures that it remains a secure and supportive haven for girls like Sarah and Naomi. Your support is indeed making a tangible difference in maintaining a secure and nurturing environment for these girls.

As we navigate this shared journey, we want to express our heartfelt thanks for your consistent presence and support. Your commitment, regardless of the scale, acts as a catalyst for a ripple effect of positive change. Your generosity and steadfast dedication to shaping the futures of these girls resonate deeply with us, and we are appreciative of the role you play in transforming lives.

In celebrating the progress of Sarah and Naomi, we look forward to opportunities to share more updates on the unfolding stories – all made possible by your kindness and support. Your contributions are not just shaping their educational journeys; they are creating a foundation for a brighter and more promising future.

Thank you for being the driving force behind these positive changes. Your continued support means the world to us and, more importantly, to the young girls whose lives you are changing.
