Dear Friend,

Following you will find an update on our project - thank you!!!!

The Passerelles Numériques Madagascar (PNM) project contributes to the integration of young Malagasy people into the digital sector, particularly targeting young women in order to help young people and their families escape poverty sustainably. In 2024, we selected the fourth class supported by PNM, which will start in 2025. Our actions reached 825 young people through an awareness campaign conducted in 15 high schools, with 79% female participants. The objective of these sessions was to encourage high school girls to consider careers in digital technology and to overcome gender stereotypes. The particularly rigorous selection process resulted in 256 applications being received and 50 new students (at least 50% of whom were young women) being selected for the next class, which will start in January 2025.

In addition, PNM organized a training session on gender issues and the prevention of sexual harassment on October 24 in partnership with the NGO C for C, and aimed at the Malagasy ecosystem. This workshop brought together 16 representatives of partner companies and internship tutors, in order to promote inclusive and respectful work environments for students on internships.

In December 2024, a new workshop on gender, targeting PNM teachers and employees, will take place to strengthen the prevention of violence in educational settings. In January 2025, the fourth class of 50 students, made up of 50% young women, will begin their courses and workshops.

Wishing you a wonderful new year!
