Making a Healthplan for Life for Haitian Children

Twelve months ago, our orphanage in Titanyen, Haiti was forced to evacuate in the early morning hours when the gunfire paused between the local gangs and police.  Crammed in the back of a Tap-Tap, the children and staff had no idea how long they would be displaced from their forever home in Titaynen.

Twelve months later, the children are living in Port-au-Prince with new challenges, fears, excitment, and opportunities.  The recent uprising and turmoil with gang violence has put Port-au-Prince in a lockdown where we are yet again fearing what each day may bring. 

Our partnership with Kids Connection Haiti which focuses on providing workshops for the kids building skills in life skills, professional development, and preparing the children for a life on their own in Haiti has partially paused while gang violence shuts down the entire city.  We have had scares of running out of food and water with stores and vendors shut down.  

Through all the adversity and challenges, our children and staff continue to charge forward trying to live each day to the fullest. 

Your donations go directly to the kids in need that are focused in a few key areas at the moment:

• Food relief / Water / Fuel 
• Hospital bills: We no longer have the amazing partnership with a group of doctors and nurses called ALOM since we evacuated.  We've been forced to have to find medical care within local hospitals and are in need of continued funding to ensure the children stay healthy.  For example, one of the girl's has discovered growths in her breasts and we need to do a surgery due to higher potential for cancer

There are many other initiateves that our team is working on funding and driving, but the above are the most immediate and prevelant needs.
