The music program works satisfyingly. 37 children currently attend the program. They received 50 class hours this quarter. The children are currently playing a total of 6 songs, among them: Los animales de mi casa, Vamos a jugar, Canta, toca, baila y Niños felices, navidad y el himno de la alegría.
The program also provides guidelines to teach values such as respect, teamwork, personal responsibility, etc. We have taken all of this into consideration to evaluate the process, not only in the musical aspect, but in the attitudes and behaviors as well.
We also perform concert drills, which include being silent, having a correct posture, wether sitting down or standing, holding the flute in the correct manner, watching out for the professor’s instructions to begin a song, rendering a good interpretation of the song and being silent at the end. What we are essentially doing is creating a culture around music.
