Dear friends, donors, and interested people,
Funding consistency still persists as a significant barrier to ensuring this project will be able to purchase enough food each week, however there is a light at the end of the tunnel! Recently the school has been focused on constructing and improving a community vegetable garden; this is a vital step towards acheiving sustainability. If they can reduce dependence on donations and increase the proportion of food produced by the garden, more consisten meals can be provided.
The veggie garden doesn't come without its challenges though - the incoming El Niño is set to heavily disrupt Costa Rica's weather, with the Carribean coast seeing 60% more rain than usual which will cause flooding, and other parts seeing extreme drought. Therefore this project needs your support more than ever to protect itself from unexpected events such as this.
