Since March 25, 2020, COVID-19 has been confirmed in Mali. While many parts of the world have sufficient access to vaccines and medical care that can alleviate the impact of the pandemic, in countries such as Mali, this aid is more difficult to acquire as a result of lack of healthcare infrastructure, which fails to handle a pandemic on such a large scale.
Our program, Mali Clinic Supplies to Protect Against COVID-19, functions to prevent the spread of the virus in the underserved community of Bamako, Mali through access to medical supplies. While COVID-19 is immensely impactful around the world, it remains clear that those most at risk are those who are most vulnerable. These individuals include those whose immune systems have been compromised due to their HIV diagnoses.
GAIA Vaccine Foundation’s goal is to remain ahead of the COVID-19 curve in Mali by ensuring adequate access to vaccines and medical supplies. We are working closely with doctors at the Hope Center Clinic to design strategies to implement into the Malian community that would minimize the impact from the pandemic.
However, now more than ever, we need your support. As COVID-19 continues to rampage through our Malian communities, we are in constant need of gowns, gloves, hand sanitizer, and masks to keep the spread of the virus minimal. With your help, we would be able to ensure a consistent supply of these materials, which in turn would ensure a readily equipped healthcare system.
With a donation of only $10, you would be supplying a box of gloves to our medical team. With a donation of $25, you would be supplying a box of masks, a key component in minimizing the spread of COVID-19. With a generous donation of $100, you would be providing our doctors and dedicated healthcare workers with meals for themselves and their families. We thank you for your support during this time as we work to reduce the incidence of infectious disease that disproportionately affects the underserved.
