Earlier this year, a young girl, Muskan, was brought to SHINE Humanity’s Sehat Ghar in Sujawal. Although she was almost 3 years old, Muskan weighed just 8 kg with a MUAC (Mid-Upper Arm Circumference) of 12.2 cm, she was identified as a Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM) patient. Her family was extremely concerned, as her physical weakness was apparent, but so was their hope that with the right support she could recover.
Muskan was enrolled immediately into the center’s nutrition program. Over the course of four consistent follow-up visits, she received nutritional supplements and close monitoring by the team. With care, guidance, and encouragement, Muskan’s condition began to improve, her strength returned, her energy levels improved, and her laughter became more frequent. On her last visit she weighed in at 10 kg, and her MUAC increased from 12.2 to 12.6 cm, a real sign of recovery. This progress reflects more than numbers; it reflects a renewed future for a child who was once at risk. Muskan’s story is a reminder that early action, community trust, and consistent care can change lives and that every child deserves the chance to grow strong and healthy.
