Greetings from BEDS (Bangladesh Environment and Development Society)
BEDS is a community-based, non-profit, development-focused non-government organization committed to maintaining ecological balance and harmony between humans and nature. We were established to solve complex environmental and social problems in Bangladesh, including the adverse impacts of global warming, the unsustainable use of natural resources, our drinking water crisis, the destruction of the Sundarbans mangrove ecosystem, the increased usage of unclean energy, general gender inequity and human rights violations. BEDS has done this work since 2010.
We have completed more than 50 projects in the past 10 years and have received prestigious awards including the Energy Globe National Award (2018); the Annual Balipara Foundation Award (2018); the Divisional Environmental Award in 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015; and the Top20 District Development Award in 2018. In addition, one of BEDS’s most successfully implemented projects, "Eco Village in Bangladesh" has been showcased at Expo 2020 Dubai's Global Best Practice Program.
