Sundarbans, the mangrove forest in Bangladesh declared a world heritage site, needs more attention for its preservation and protection. Mangrove restoration is one of the major parts of those activities. To become more concern about Sundarbans a decision was taken at the national convention on Sundarbans held on 14 February 2001 in Khulna city of Bangladesh to observe 14 February as The Sundarbans Day.
BEDS (Bangladesh Environment and Development Society) has been working for restoring mangroves since 2013. BEDS try to celebrate the Sundarbans Day by planting mangrove in the coastal belt of Sundarbans with the participation of local people. On this day BEDS purchase mangrove saplings from mangrove nurseries and plant them by ensuring further monitoring. BEDS also motivate local people to plant mangrove for their future protection as a part of mangrove restoration.
This year also BEDS decided to celebrate the Sundarbans day. We would like to thank all our donors for their support for us. We are also requesting our donors to start monthly recurring donations. For recurring donation please find the link below;
