Sundarbans mangroves have substantial and economic importance at local, national, and global perspectives. It has balanced the ecosystem-serving as fish nurseries, havens of biodiversity, act as extremely effective carbon sinks. The forest biodiversity is now showing clear signs of degradationdue to several natural and human induced pressures.

On these concerned issues BEDS (Bangladesh Environment and Development Society) has been working for restoring mangroves since 2013. Till now BEDS has planted more than 2,70,000 mangroves in the Sundarbans coastal region.

BEDS has been motivating the local community, fish farmer and their future generation adjacent to Sundarbans for a long time. As a part of motivation this 2nd February BEDS celebrated World Wetlands Day 2022 with future generation of fish farmers who living adjacent to Sundarbans. On the day the children were asked to observe the biodiversity of fish farm with mangroves and without mangroves and noted them.

Through the event the coastal children observed more biodiversity in the fish farm with mangroves rather than without mangrove fish farm. The future generation got the massage that presence of mangrove in fish farm increases the biodiversity. There sharp observance will help them to disseminate the knowledge of benefits of mangrove restoration
