We need to restore more Mangroves:

World climate change is now a global concern. Global warming is helping to rise in sea level and the coastal regions are the main area who suffered the consequence of sea level rising. Considering the issues of coastal protection and decreasing the effect of global warming the most benefited solution is mangrove restoration. These unique trees restore 10 times more carbon in it and its branched root system prevent soil erosion.

BEDS has been planting mangroves since 2013 for reducing the impact of the climate change and for increasing the resilience of the unique forest and to protect river bank together with local people. This restoration activities assist the natural regeneration process of the mangroves in the place where in the past there was a plenty mangrove.

In the year 2022 BEDS have already planted more than 170 thousand mangroves at the river bank side near the Sundarbans together with the local people. Before any restoration initiatives BEDS ensure the knowledge dissemination regarding the importance of mangrove restoration for the better involvement of local people. BEDS have targeted to cover almost 500 ha through mangrove restoration for crating a mangrove buffer zone in the coastal area.

So, it’s our urge to our donor to help the local people to plant more and more mangroves in the river embankment.

We would like to thank all our donors for their contribution and faith for us. We are also requesting our donors to start monthly recurring donations. For recurring donation please find the link below:
