Remal, one of the most devastating cylone, held at 27th May 2024. Many of the areas were flooded, many households were damaged, many livestock were dead and 11 people lost their lives due to the hit upon the coastal shore. But Sundarbans again proved as a real hero. The world largest mangrove forest again saved many of the coastal people from a massive destroy. If there was no forest, this cyclone would destroy the whole area and a lot of people loss their life.

Sundarbans saved the coast and coastal people from the massive physical and economical destruction. So we can say only mangrove can save us from these large natural calamities. Many of our river bank has empty land. This is the time for mangrove plantation more and more. If we create forest around the riverside and coastal embankment, one day coastal people can face the large devastating cyclones normally. Mangrove can also save a lot of lives of different fauna.

Since 2011 Bangladesh Environment and Development Society (BEDS) is working for the coastal people of the Sundarbans by planting mangroves. In this year BEDS with K-Green Foundation has a plan for planting 100000 mangrove seedlings in 20 hector of river side land. BEDS think that this initiative can change the life of the coastal people. The mangroves can protect the people from different natural disaster. It also can improve the livelihood condition of the local people.

We are requesting all our donors to start monthly recurring donation. Please click the following
