Seasons greetings!
This is Jannutul.
Not long ago, her future looked uncertain. Her father left because her mother had only daughters. Her mother worked up to 15 hours a day in a factory, yet still struggled to feed Jannatul and her younger sister. Joynab.
Jannutul says that without our help, she would probably be begging on the streets or working as a servant. School would have been just a dream.
Today that dream is real. Now Jannutul and her family are safe in Dubai. She and her little sister Joynab are thriving on full scholarships at a good school. Their Mum, Hasina, has a good job in Dubai, which is fairly paid. Jannutul dreams of becoming a teacher — to help other girls like herself.
Because of your support, hope replaced despair. Education has replaced fear. And two sisters now believe they can change the world.
But there are thousands more girls like Jannutul and Joynab, waiting for their chance to learn, to dream. With your support, we can reach them.
This year has brought incredible progress, in our programs and in the loves of our students. Yet funding has been slower than in previous years – and the coming months will be challenging.
Your continued support means everything. You are the reason this work continues, the reason dreams like Jannutul’s stay alive.
Together, we can make the next year one of renewed hope, opportunity, and transformation.
