April 2026: Education in Action at Maronka Primary School
It’s been an exciting term at EducAid Maronka! On 10th March 2026, Maronka was honoured to welcome senior officials from the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, who visited the school to see first-hand the impact of our approach and speak directly with students and staff.
Adama, Site Coordinator at EducAid Maronka, reflected:
“We used to dream that one day EducAid’s learning would reach every school across the country… Some of our dreams have truly started to become reality! I was very happy to explain our work to the education minister—I felt so proud.”
Green Education and Community Action
This term students have planted 105 trees at Maronka, including seven tropical almond trees cared for on site. They have also led community outreach on reducing plastic use and promoting sustainable practices. Early signs of impact are already visible, with community members reporting reduced tree cutting.
Learning and Student Development
Students celebrated the International Day of Education through interactive activities that strengthened literacy and phonics skills. Early Years learners have been developing creativity through activity-based learning, while older students are preparing for their upcoming National Primary School Exams through mock assessments to identify and address learning gaps.
Ubuntu Time remains a favourite part of the week, supporting reflection, collaboration, and strong relationships among students.
T2, one of our teachers, shared: “Every day at Maronka is so rewarding. The students are amazing and always ready to learn new things!”
Thank you for helping to make this possible!
