Healthcare and Hunger Relief Initiative
Dear Esteemed Donors, Season’s Greetings!
In Pakistan, especially in remote and underprivileged regions, access to quality healthcare and food remains a significant challenge. The Customs Health Care Society (CHCS) recognized the dire conditions faced by impoverished communities and launched a comprehensive project aimed at providing free medical services and daily food distribution to the most vulnerable populations.
The initiative operates with a dual mission:
1. To provide essential medical care in areas with inadequate health infrastructure, and
2. To combat hunger by distributing nutritious cooked meals to low-income families on a regular basis.
Healthcare Access for the Underserved
Many remote areas across Pakistan suffer from poor or non-existent healthcare facilities. Residents of these regions, particularly laborers and daily wage earners, cannot afford medical treatment or travel to distant cities for care. To bridge this critical gap, CHCS launched free medical camps with the goal of making basic healthcare services accessible and consistent.
Medical Facilities in Islamabad and Lahore
CHCS has established permanent free medical clinics in Islamabad and Lahore, which serve poor and underprivileged individuals every day. These clinics offer:
Free medical consultations
Diagnostic services
Medicines and treatment for common illnesses
Preventive health awareness
Hundreds of patients benefit from these services daily, receiving compassionate and professional care regardless of their financial background.
Mobile Medical Camps
In addition to its urban clinics, CHCS conducts weekly mobile medical camps in rural and remote areas where health facilities are either lacking or nonexistent. These camps are staffed by qualified doctors, nurses, and support staff, and provide:
Primary healthcare consultations
Treatment for chronic and acute conditions
Distribution of essential medicines
Referrals to hospitals for advanced care if needed
The camps also serve as a platform for health education, raising awareness about hygiene, disease prevention, maternal health, and child nutrition.
Combatting Hunger Through Daily Food Distribution
Recognizing the widespread food insecurity among Pakistan’s poor, CHCS expanded its efforts by launching the “Dastarkhwan” Daily Food Distribution Camps in major cities such as:
Lahore
Islamabad
Peshawar
Chitral
These daily food camps provide hot, nutritious meals to laborers, street children, the homeless, and other marginalized individuals who struggle to feed themselves and their families. Meals are cooked under hygienic conditions and served with dignity in clean environments.
Project Objectives
The overall goals of this project are to:
Improve the health outcomes of underserved populations by delivering free, accessible healthcare services
Alleviate hunger and malnutrition by providing daily meals to those in need
Promote community resilience by addressing the fundamental needs of health and nutrition
Foster long-term social development through consistent engagement with vulnerable communities
Appeal for Support
The success of this project relies heavily on the generosity of donors and support from partners and well-wishers. CHCS calls on individuals, businesses, and philanthropic organizations to contribute to this vital cause. Every donation helps sustain medical camps, expand food programs, and reach more lives across Pakistan. The Customs Health Care Society (CHCS) remains fully committed to serving Pakistan’s underprivileged communities through its Healthcare and Hunger Relief Initiative. By offering free medical care and daily meals, CHCS is restoring health, hope, and dignity to countless individuals and families.
Your continued support is not just appreciated — it is essential. Together, we can make a lasting impact and build a healthier, hunger-free future for all.
Warm regards, Dr. Asif Mahmood Jah
