Medications for Oncological Units Oct-Dec 2019

Thanks to you, our donors, Tabletochki foundation was able to provide assistance for children with cancer and purchase medicines and supplies for $ 248078 in October-December 2019. $ 88229 we spent for targeted assistance for children whose families have applied to the foundation for help, and $ 152151 to help 17 children's oncology departments all over Ukraine. Administrative costs for the project amounted to $ 7698.

Of course, behind all these numbers stand stories of our children under care.

One of them is 13 years old girl from Alexandria, Kirovograd region. She has been ill with Hodgkin's Lymphoma for almost 5 years. She began her first treatment in spring 2015, went through 6 blocks of chemotherapy and radiation therapy. But after 8 months the relentless illness returned. The battle began again.

This time it was 2 blocks of anti-relapse therapy and auto-TCM. After that, almost 3 years of LIFE.

The girl began to grow, develop and the tumor also was growing. Again relapse and again hospital... After long lasting treatment, including the Adcetris, which was provided by Tabletochki, the tumor in the mediastinum decreased by half. The most important step remains - stem cell transplantation.

Another kid under care is only 1 year and 6 months. She has been struggling with Blackfen-Diamond anemia from birth. This is when the bone marrow does not work and to maintain life, blood transfusion is needed every month. As a result, side effects appear in the form of allergies, poor appetite, and very high iron. Tabletochki provides the girl with Exjade that helps to cope with this. The child has been taking this medicine for more than a year. Also, during the first blood transfusion, the child was infected with hepatitis B, the only medicine with the active substance Lamivudine, which at the moment can be obtained only abroad. Tabletochki Foundation provided this medicine as well. Now family is looking for a donor for bone marrow transplantation. The girl mother writes to us: "We are very grateful that there is such a foundation that is ready to help with the purchase of drugs and not only, because support at such a difficult moment is priceless". And we are so happy to help and are so thankful to you, our donors!
