'Dad, I have to news for you: bad and a good one,' says 13-years old Nazariy, leaving the doctor's office with his mother. 'I'll start with the bad. I could die. And the good news is that it is treated.' Every year parents of 1000 kids from various parts of Ukraine hear these words that dividing their life into parts - before and after.
Not all children need a bone marrow transplant to fight cancer. In order to get relief or get well, sometimes timely given medication is enough. To our huge regret, goverment of Ukraine can not provide children and oncological units of the hospitals with the necessary medicines. Kids and their parents can only rely on each of us, because together we are able to provide children with cancer with highly needed pills that like the words of 13-years old boy can change their lifes and lifes of their parents for ever.
For last three months, Charitable Foundation "Pills" (Tabletochki) spent 3 894 643 UAH (155 786 USD) for purchasing of medications (4 793 pakages). This year, fund took over the function of the state in an emergency mode, trying to ensure that hospitals have all of the most essential medicines, so that children do not interrupt their treatment. We wish that in the nearest future we should not feel in this gap, but now we are kindly asking to support our beneficiaries. At the moment Charitable Foundation "Pills" (Tabletochki) actively lobbying decreeses that aimed to make the procedures of purchaising of medicines easier.
For two months national hospital Okhmatdyt needs the following most urgent medicines that in total costs more than 2.8 million UAH:
- Alexan - 180 packages for the amount of 121 000 UAH;
- Avelox - 290 p. - 247 448 UAH
- Adriblastin - 75 p. - 95 958 UAH
- ASD-a - 300 p. - 38 691 UAH
- Vfend - 43 p. - 905 861 UAH
- Vincristine - 82 p. - 8660 UAH
- Geptral - 132 p. - 122 195 UAH
- Imatinib - 61 p. - 441 742 UAH
- Exjade - 8 p. - 176 425 UAH
- Colomycin - 415 p. - 162 895 UAH
- CellCept - 5 p. - 7366 UAH
- Ekvoral - 10 p. - 9250 UAH
- Cytosar - 370 p. - 244 982 UAH
- Osetron - 416 p. - 60 936 UAH
