We would like to pass on a note of gratitude to our donors that Peace Winds received from a community school for Burmese children on the Thai side of the Thailand-Burma border, the Kwe Ka Buang Migrant Learning Center. They are working tirelessly to educate and care for Burmese children of all ages who have fled the devastating civil war in their homeland, so the kindness of donors like you means so much.

Your support has made a significant difference in the lives of our students, helping them to live more comfortably despite the challenges of being in a migrant situation. Thanks to your contribution, we were able to cover essential expenses such as the electricity bill, water bill, and gas for cooking. These necessities ensure that our students have a safe and supportive environment where they can focus on their education and well-being.
Your continued support means the world to us and to the students who benefit from your kindness. As we strive to maintain this environment, we humbly ask for your ongoing support to help us meet future needs. Thank you once again for your compassion and generosity. Together, we are making a real difference.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Kwe Ka Buang Learning Center Principal

Peace Winds continues to support students at schools like Kwe Ka Buang by providing them with meals and hygiene supplies. New donations to our work in Thailand will support this vital program.
In addition to supporting community schools, Peace Winds recently began the second year of a case management program in Thailand for Burmese parents and children. Many families end up in rural villages near the Thai-Myanmar with limited access to education, childcare, healthcare, or other support services. The challenge is exacerbated by the fact that many Burmese migrants do not speak Thai. When their children are born, many parents do not obtain birth certificates, leaving them “stateless” and unable to go to Thai schools or access complete medical care.
In partnership with local organizations, Peace Winds holds workshops and consultations for Burmese migrant parents. Experienced facilitators help parents navigate a wide range of issues, from birth registration, school enrollment, and vaccinations to parenting challenges, children’s rights and child abuse, and contraception. Workshops allow participants to share their experiences and support one another; they often serve as mentors for their peers, helping raise awareness in the entire community.
While parents attend these sessions, Peace Winds also holds workshops for the children who come along with them. They learn about children’s rights and healthy habits through fun games and age-appropriate activities.
It can be difficult for many adults to miss a day of work to attend these workshops, so Peace Winds also provides participants with food packages, including high-protein items like eggs and fish, to ensure that sessions do not interfere with participants’ ability to feed their families. This is especially critical for those who are struggling to make ends meet.
Burmese migrants are striving to rebuild their lives in a new country, despite language and institutional barriers. In the midst of this, the opportunity to talk with a local staff member about sensitive topics often comes as a great comfort. We appreciate your continued support for this work.
