Thank you for working alongside Days for Girls International (DfGI) to advance menstrual health equity in Lebanon. Your continued support creates meaningful change in the lives of the people we serve, despite situations of hardship and heightened uncertainty.
Due to the ongoing financial and economic crisis across Lebanon, people face increasing social and economic challenges that impact their well-being. Specifically, women, girls and people with periods are at risk when accessing basic and essential menstrual care needs. Often, they navigate circumstances associated with:
These inequities, barriers to access and related stigma deeply influence how sexual and reproductive health concerns are managed in social settings.
In December, members from our dedicated DfG Enterprise team in Lebanon met with the Lebanese Union for Child Welfare, an organization committed to implementing child welfare programs nationwide. During the meeting, the Enterprise team presented on menstrual health education, access to resources and the need for dignified approaches to dismantle social stigma. Their participation in this meeting was a crucial step forward in advancing menstrual rights and equity in the country.
By advocating for people who menstruate to have the necessary tools to make informed decisions, we help ensure a safer and more equitable future for the people we serve. Since working in Lebanon, to date, DfG has distributed nearly 51,000 DfG Kits throughout the country.
We are grateful for your support and hope you feel proud about the impact created in Lebanon through your generosity.
