In Haiti, 80% of middle and high school students never finish school. And while access to quality education is essential, we have learned that a child cannot truly learn when they are hurting. Project Fleri's Mental Health Initiative funds a full-time local social worker to reach both students and their families. At $12,000 annually, this investment addresses one of the most overlooked barriers to educational success and creates the emotional foundation that makes a difference for our students.
In Haiti, trauma is not rare. It is everyday life. For the students of Project Fleri, poverty, instability, and loss quietly follow them into the classroom, making it nearly impossible to learn and grow. Without mental health support, these children carry invisible burdens alone. And without help, those burdens become walls that no amount of tuition or books can break down.
Your gift funds a local social worker and expanded counseling services for Project Fleri students and their families. For the first time, children will have a safe space to process trauma, build resilience, and find their footing. When a child feels truly supported from the inside, everything changes. Their attendance improves. Their confidence grows. Their future opens up.
When children heal, communities transform. Students who receive mental health support stay in school longer, build healthier families, and grow into leaders. In a country where 80% of students never finish school, this investment does far more than change one child's story. It begins to rewrite the story of an entire generation in Vivy Mitchel, Haiti.
