Dear Supporters & Donors,
Mentoring young boys and imparting life-defining lessons is a cornerstone of the BMAN mission. We recognize that traditional classroom settings do not always resonate with every child; however, the universal language of football (soccer) is a sport revered and admired by boys worldwide.
The Mentoring Boys With Football project is an innovative approach that utilizes the pitch as a classroom. We believe that soccer players and coaches are uniquely positioned to serve as role models, using the game to teach:
Discipline & Focus: Translating practice routines into life habits.
Teamwork & Sacrifice: Learning that individual glory is secondary to the success of the "pride."
Conflict Resolution: Managing high-pressure situations without aggression.
Resilience: Bouncing back from a "loss" with a strategy for the next "match."
II. QUARTERLY REALITY: AN OPERATIONAL PAUSE
It is with a sense of deep responsibility that we report on the status of the last quarter. Despite the overwhelming demand from local communities and the clear necessity of this intervention, BMAN was unable to execute any football-based mentoring projects during this period.
The Primary Challenges:
Critical Funding Shortfall: While the vision is strong, the capital required to secure pitches, procure training equipment, and provide snacks/hydration for the participants was not met.
Logistical Constraints: The rising costs of transportation and secure venues have made it impossible to host sessions without compromising the safety and quality of the experience for the boys.
High Demand vs. Zero Supply: We continue to receive inquiries from parents and community leaders asking when the next "mentoring match" will begin. It is a heavy burden for our team to turn away boys who are looking for positive male guidance through the sport they love.
III. THE IMPACT OF THE DELAY
When we are unable to get onto the pitch, we lose a vital window of influence in these boys' lives. For many of our participants, these sessions are the only time they interact with positive male role models in a structured environment. A quarter without play is a quarter where these boys are left to navigate the "hyenas" of their environment without a coach's guidance.
IV. THE ROAD AHEAD: SEEKING A "TITLE SPONSOR"
We remain hopeful and are working tirelessly to ensure that the "next whistle" blows very soon. We are currently seeking a dedicated funding partner to serve as the Lead Sponsor for our upcoming football sessions.
Our Immediate Requirements:
Equipment Kits: Balls, bibs, and first-aid supplies.
Pitch Rentals: Safe, accessible community spaces.
Logistics Fund: To cover transportation for at-risk boys from remote areas.
Mentorship Materials: Printed guides for coaches to use during "half-time" character sessions.
V. CONCLUSION
The boys are ready. The mentors are ready. The pitch is waiting. All that is missing is the financial fuel to turn this vision back into reality. We thank our past supporters and invite new partners to help us get these boys back on the field, where they can learn to become the champions and the menwe know they can be.
With sincere hope,
