The builders were inside, painting, hammering cabinets into the wall, tiling the edge of a sink...when a woman stopped by. Obviously pregnant, she asked when the new Mercy in Action birth center would be completed because, she said, "I want to give birth here".
A few weeks later, it happened again. Then twice in one week. Now it is a regular thing for the pregnant women in our community to be stopping by to ask "Will it be ready for me when I go into labor?"
Please help us finish this project and get it open before any of these lady's due dates, so that they can experience the safety, kindness, respect, and affordable (free) health care that will be offered behind these walls when completed.
Our goal is to be open as soon as we can. Only $10,000 is left to be raised for the birth center and clinic to be completed and furnished... please give generously so that we can finish and get it open.
The beautiful mothers are standing at our door...
Love,
Vicki and the Mercy Team in the Philippines
