By Jenny Fox | Project Assistant
Dear Friends,
We are delighted to share with you that the first baby has safely arrived at our newest Mercy in Action-sponsored birth center! Our birth center in Olongapo City recently completed the extensive certification process required by the Department of Health, so we have the green light to be open for births. Just a few days after the certificate was granted, our first baby came into the world in this birth center. This family was so grateful to receive safe and respectful care.
With this newest birth center fully accredited, we now sponsor birth centers on three different islands in the Philippines. Thanks to your generous donations, each birth center is staffed with midwives who are saving the lives of mothers and babies by providing respectful, evidence-based care completely free of charge to the families who are using these services.
We greatly appreciate your faithful giving to this project, so that we can continue to empower Filipina midwives to serve mothers and babies without any burden of cost falling on the families.
With gratitude for your partnership,
Jenny Fox, for the Mercy in Action team
