Microloans to Help Rural Women Grow Food

By Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri | Project Leader

Dear donors,

We are reaching out for your support to launch the “Microloans for Nigerian Women to Grow Food at Home” project. No donations have been received yet, and your help is crucial to start this initiative and give women the means to provide food for their families safely.

Many rural communities in Nigeria are struggling with food shortages. The ongoing herder-farmer conflicts have made traditional farming dangerous, forcing people to abandon their farms. Widows face even greater challenges, as they often lose access to farmland after the death of their husbands. Without a safe way to grow food, families face hunger and poor nutrition.

This project will provide 1,000 interest-free, no-collateral microloans to women, allowing them to grow vegetables and other crops within their home compounds. By farming safely at home, they can improve nutrition, feed their families, and generate income by selling surplus produce in local markets. This approach gives women independence, reduces reliance on unsafe farmlands, and strengthens community food security.

Supporting this project means helping families eat better, reducing hunger, and giving women the tools to sustain their households. The income generated can also help send children to school and improve family well-being. Over time, wider adoption of home-based food production can improve health and economic stability in rural communities.

Your contribution can make it possible to launch this life-saving project and transform the lives of women and families who have been left vulnerable. Every donation brings hope, nourishment, and a chance for self-reliance.

Sincerely,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
