Dear Donors,
Thank you for supporting this project to provide essential micronutrient supplements to 2,000 pregnant women across underserved urban and rural communities in Nigeria. Your support will help mothers stay healthy during pregnancy and give their babies a strong start in life.
Many expectant mothers in low-resource areas struggle to get adequate nutrition, leaving them vulnerable to anaemia and related complications. Iron and folic acid deficiencies increase the risk of fatigue, infections, miscarriage, and low birth weight. Without intervention, both mothers and babies face serious health challenges that could have lifelong consequences.
This project will supply iron, folic acid, and other key micronutrients, alongside personalized guidance on maternal nutrition and safe pregnancy practices. Health workers will distribute supplements and offer advice during routine check-ins, ensuring women understand how to use them effectively and maintain their wellbeing throughout pregnancy.
In the long term, healthier pregnancies will lead to stronger infants, fewer complications, and reduced strain on local health facilities. Families will benefit from improved maternal and child health, and communities will see lasting gains in wellbeing. While some contributions have been received, they are not yet sufficient to launch the program. With your continued support, we can reach these women, safeguard maternal health, and give newborns the best chance to thrive.
With thanks,
Joy Ojochogwu Etubi
