Christmas Celebrations

Well it’s a bit late, however wish you a healthy and prosperous New Year!

Here is a quick breakup of the amount spent on the mid-day meals served for the three months to the children of Balajothi.

  • Nov 2014: Rs.7,350.00 (~USD 122)
  • Dec 2014 Rs.5,875.00 (~USD98)
  • Jan 2015 Rs.4,675.00 (~USD78)

Children of Balajothi celebrated Christmas, New Year and also participated in various cultural events in the past three months. A quick glance at our CBR programme where Balajothi supports disabled children in the rural areas around Bangalore.

Christmas Celebrations!

As usual, our annual Christmas programme was a time for great fun, music and dance!

Windsor Gardenia hotel sponsored delicious snacks which were relished by the children and audience.

Santa Claus distributed gifts to all our children. Dr. Bhavya Vasantham, who is a great patron of Balajothi, was the Chief Guest and her sister Divya Vasantham was the Guest of Honour.

Bal Utsav!

Our children participated in the annual Bal Utsav programme in Dec 2014 conducted by the Karnataka State Council for Child Welfare.

They had a great time with lots of music and dance and enjoyed the day-out.

Kalaangana

Our special children participated in the annual Kalaangana 2014 festival of arts, music and dance held in Dec 2014 and won several prizes!

A testimony to their hidden abilities.....

Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR)

As part of the CBR programme, we support families with special children in rural Mysore & Kolar areas with ages ranging from five years to over thirty years suffering from various types of disabilities. All these persons belong to below poverty line (BPL) families.

Provisions supplied to these families are: Rice, Refined Oil, Atta, Toor dal & Sugar

These provisions were donated by volunteers from Oracle who have been supporting Balajothi’s activities for the last several months.  We gratefully acknowledge their contribution.

Lastly we would like to bring your attention to a new Global Giving project to buy a new School Van as our current van has clocked over 100,000 kms and is frequently breaking down.

Thank you all for you continued support to children of Balajothi.
